Privacy

This website

This site uses no cookies, no visitor analytics and no files from third parties: all images, styling and text come from our own server. We do not track you and we do not need a cookie banner.

Our host records technical data in log files, including your IP address. These are used only to trace faults and abuse.

If you mail us

We keep correspondence for as long as it is needed for the contact and for our records.

If you offer us goods

This site has a form for offering what you have: a car, computers, medical supplies or something else. We then keep what you fill in yourself — what it is, where it is, your name, your email address and your telephone number if you give one.

That goes by email to the board, and is also written to a file on our own server. The second copy exists because email sometimes disappears into a spam filter; without it, an offer could be lost without anyone noticing.

We use it only to get in touch about your offer and to arrange collection or delivery. Once that is done, we remove it. If nothing comes of the offer, we remove it after six months.

To prevent misuse of the form, we also keep a code calculated from your IP address. We do not keep the IP address itself, and it cannot be worked back out of that code.

If you sign up for the newsletter

When you sign up for the newsletter, we keep your email address, the language of the site you signed up on, and the time. You first get an email asking you to confirm. If you do not click that link, we send you nothing and delete your address again after two weeks.

We send the newsletter ourselves, from our own mail server. No other party ever touches your address. We do not measure whether you open the email or what you click, and there is no tracking pixel in it.

We use your address only to send the newsletter. We do not share it and we do not sell it. At the bottom of every newsletter there is an unsubscribe link; one click and you are off, without logging in and without giving a reason. Your address then stays with us together with the date you unsubscribed, so that we know you no longer want email from us.

If the newsletter bounces a few times — because an address no longer exists, for instance — we take it off the list.

If you donate

For a bank transfer we receive your name, IBAN and the amount. These are held in our financial records, which we are required by law to keep for seven years. They are not used for anything else and not shared with third parties, except with our accountant and where the law requires it.

The button on one of our campaign pages takes you to a page at Whydonate. You enter your bank or card details there; we neither receive nor store them. From Whydonate we hear that a donation was made, the amount and when, and your name and email address if you left them there.

If you pay by Tikkie, that payment runs through ABN AMRO. We see your name and the amount; ABN AMRO is responsible for the payment itself.

Google advertising

We advertise with Google Ads, under their programme for charities. If you reach our site through such an ad, Google puts a code in the page address: a click ID. It says nothing about you; it only records which ad was clicked.

If you then offer us goods or sign up for the newsletter, we ask with a tick box whether we may pass that click ID on to Google. If you leave it unticked, we do not keep the click ID and nothing further happens. The basis for this is your consent, and your offer or sign-up goes through exactly the same without the tick.

Click IDs that we keep with consent are written to a file on our own server, which Google collects daily. Each line in that file holds the click ID, the time, a fixed amount used only for bidding, and the name of the campaign — nothing about you. Lines older than ninety days are deleted.

There is no Google code on this site, so no Google cookies are placed either.

Who can see your data

The board members have access to the forms, the subscriber list and the mailbox. Our accountant also sees the financial records.

The services that process data for us are: Whydonate (donations through our campaign pages) and Google Ads (measuring our advertising, only with your consent). A Tikkie runs through ABN AMRO, which is responsible for that itself. The newsletter and the forms on this site run on our own server and mail server; no other party is involved.

Photographs

This site shows photographs of our own activities and those of our partners. If you appear in one and want it removed, mail us and we will take it down.

Your rights

You may ask which data we hold about you and ask us to correct or delete it. Mail more@aidtoukraine.nl; you will hear from us within a month. If we cannot resolve it together, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
